Extensive damage caused by a house fire in Phoenix

A house on Roman Manor Road in Trenance Manor, Phoenix – KZN was extensively damaged in a fire this morning (Wednesday).

Reaction Unit South Africa (RUSA) received multiple calls from members of the public reporting the blaze. One (1) caller alleged that the fire started after a gas cylinder exploded. Available

Reaction Officers were dispatched to the scene and arrived alongside the eThekwini Fire Department at approximately 08:08.

Firefighters gained access to the property and battled the fire, which resulted in the collapse of the roof. According to residents in the area, the property owners are currently in Johannesburg – Gauteng.

Some residents reported seeing a vehicle driven by a female leaving the premises shortly before the fire. This raised suspicions of arson linked to a family dispute. These claims could not be immediately confirmed by Reaction Officers on scene.
