Stolen Vehicle Recovery

Vehicles recovered by 5 SA Infantry Battalion in KwaZulu-Natal

The month of February is turning out to be yet another busy but fruitful one for the Joint Tactical Headquarters KwaZulu-Natal Area of Responsibility.

The 5 South African Infantry Battalion members were alerted about a vehicle theft that took place at Pongola Toyota Garage, along the N2 Pongola Town. The South African Police Service together with 5 South African Infantry Battalion members blocked the N2 road and followed the stolen vehicles. All three vehicles were recovered at Piet Retief, and the drivers of the vehicles abandoned them and ran away. The accomplice, who was the driver of a Toyota Fortuner that was escorting the three vehicles was arrested and taken to Pongola SA Police Service.

The total estimated value for all vehicles is R2 376 300, 00. All four vehicles were taken to Pongola SAPS.
