Fire at a local bed and breakfast in Newport Avenue, Glen Ashley

Marshall Security were alerted to a fire at a local bed and breakfast in Newport Avenue, Glen Ashley shortly after 8:00 on Sunday morning.

A call was made for the  assistance of Ethekwini Fire and Rescue Services whilst armed reaction officers responded to the scene and assisted with the evacuation of the occupants.

Swift action from the fire department saw the blaze extinguished. Reports from the scene indicate the fire started in the roof of the building,however the necessary authorities were on the scene and will investigate further.

No injuries were sustained in the ordeal.
