Four young men arrested after robbing and stabbing a female in Greenwood Park

Four young men have been arrested after robbing and stabbing a female in Greenwood Park north of Durban on Tuesday afternoon.

Marshall Security were alerted via the local neighbourhood watch WhatsApp group to four young men who had robbed a female, stabbing her before making off with her cell phone and fleeing in a Toyota Corolla. The local neighbourhood watch pursued the vehicle and called for the assistance of Marshall Security and the South African Police.

The vehicle was stopped on at the intersection of Adrossan Road and Chris Hani (North Coast) Road. Three suspects fled the scene on foot into nearby dense bushes whilst the driver was arrested and taken into custody by the Ethekwini Metro Police Department.

An extensive search of the area was conducted with a sighting of the suspects resulting in a foot chase by Marshall Security Armed Reaction Officers. Two suspects were apprehended trying to flee, whilst the third was found attempting to evade arrest by hiding in the bushes nearby.

A cell phone believed to be the one taken in the robbery was recovered. All five suspects were handed over to the South African Police Services for further investigation and processing.

The female victim was taken privately to a nearby hospital for further care and remains in a stable condition.
