Armed robbery at a business premises in Glen Anil Street, Glen Anil, north of Durban.

At approximately 09:00 on Friday, Marshall Security responded to a report for an armed robbery at a business premises in Glen Anil Street, Glen Anil, north of Durban.

Information from the scene indicates that five armed suspects stormed the business, demanding cellphones and cash. The store manager was assaulted with the butt of a firearm by one of the suspects as they made off in an awaiting getaway vehicle.

Crisis Medical paramedics attended to the injured man, who was stabilized on scene and later refused hospital transportation.

An extensive search of the area was conducted, however the suspects remain at large.

The scene was secured and handed over to the South African Police Services for further investigation and processing.
