MEC Motlhaping Speech – Opening of Refentse Recreational Facility and Home

Kindly receive a copy of MEC’s speech at E.R Mocwaledi Primary School in Pampierstad during the official handover of the Refentse Recreational Facilities who died in a tragic bus accident outside school premises after school last year.

MEC first started at the family’s home in a informal settlement of Nkandla in Hartswater to unveil them a home for them that will improve their living conditions.

MEC Motlhaping today unveiled a 3 bedroom structure with a separate living area to the Seretsi of family of 8, who previously stayed in a tiny dilapidated 1room shack. The Seretsi family lost their 9 year old son in a tragic accident outside the school premises of E.R Mocwaledi Primary School.

The Department paid a visit to the family shortly after the accident and made a commitment to the family to avail help. Today was a formal handover to make the family.

The other part of the day was to further pay tribute to the memory of Refentse with a De Beers donation of a Recreational Facilities to the school. MEC Motlhapng was at E.R Mocwaledi Primary School in Pampierstad for the second part of the day in honouring the memory of the late 9 year old Refentse.

The Recreational Facilities were facilitated by the Department through the generous donation of De Beers and a collaborative efforts with other stakeholders such as Department of Education and the school.

The other facilities, were existing structures at the back of the school which was refurbished through the help of the Department’s EPWP Participants, to still be usable to the learners.
