Hijacked vehicle recovered in Riet River – KZN
A Mazda bakkie that was hijacked on Old Inanda Road in Verulam by two armed suspects was recovered by members of Reaction Unit South Africa.
At approximately 08:32 today (Tuesday) Reaction Officers were called out to old Inanda Road in Verulam after receiving a call of a hijacking. Upon arrival, the victim explained that two (2) suspects approached him and produced firearms. The suspects got into his Ford Ranger bakkie and sped off.
Reaction Officers patrolled the area and searched for the suspects and the sought after vehicle. Officers recovered the bakkie abandoned on an unpaved road in Parkgate. Residents informed RUSA Members that two individuals had parked the vehicle minutes earlier and walked towards the main road. One of the suspects was using a reflector jacket.
A search was conducted for the hijackers however no arrests were made.
