Two alleged dagga traffickers arrested in Scottburgh

Nthando Ndoyokwe (32), and Thando Mbele (31) were arrested on the N2 freeway near Scottburgh on Wednesday for allegedly dealing in dagga.
The Hawks’ Members from Port Shepstone Serious Organised Crime unit received information about two vehicles that were reportedly transporting a significant amount of dagga from the Eastern Cape to KwaZulu-Natal.

An operation was swiftly conducted which included Flying Squad and K9 unit and both vehicles were spotted and intercepted. The resultant search uncovered seventy-seven (77) bags of dagga weighing 308.kg with an estimated street value of approximately R 771 000.

Ndoyokwe and Mbele were released on R3000 bail each following their subsequent appearance at the Scottburgh Magistrate’s Court yesterday, their case has been postponed to the 27th September 2019.
