Hawks seeks assistance in tracing CIT robbery suspects

Western Cape – The Hawks’ National Priority Violent Crimes (NPVC) appeals to the public to come forward with information that could lead to the arrest of the suspects implicated in cash in transit robbery.

Three unknown suspects approached and disarmed a cash-in-transit company crew member who stood guard at the entrance of the fast-food outlet, at Viking petrol service station in Epping, near Elsies River in the early hours of 11 February 2019. A shock trolley cash bag was taken containing an undisclosed amount of cash and the suspects fled the scene in a getaway vehicle.

The armoured vehicle gave chase and the driver fired shots however no injuries were reported. The suspects fled on foot after abandoning the getaway vehicle approximately a few meters away from the crime scene. Anyone with credible information that could ensure the arrest of the gunmen should contact the Hawks’ Investigating Officer, Sergeant Ludwe Mzana on 082 559 4689.
