MiWay Insurance appoints a new Head of Claims.

The Chief Executive Officer at MiWay Insurance, René Otto, is pleased to announce the appointment of Karabo Kopeka as Head of Claims at MiWay as of 1 December 2019.

Mr Kopeka joined MiWay in January 2019 as the Claims Legal General Manager.

He has been in the insurance industry for 14 years, spearheading roles in underwriting, risk management and claims.

Mr Kopeka joined MiWay from Discovery Insure where he was the Head of Commercial Claims. Prior to that, he held the position of Engineering Claims Manager at Hollard.

Mr Kopeka has a BCom Law degree, Executive Development Certificate from the University of Stellenbosch Business School, Operations Management qualification from the University of Johannesburg and completed a GIBS Programme in Management Development.

He was a delegate on the Insurance Institute of Gauteng (IIG) International Programme and was also a finalist in the second season of the Insurance Apprentice.

Mr Kopeka has a wealth of knowledge and experience and immense passion for the insurance industry. He has already proven himself an asset to MiWay and there is no doubt that he will continue to make an invaluable contribution.
