Pizza retailer in Verulam robbed twice during weekend

Debonairs Pizza Robbed Twice In One Weekend: Verulam – KZN

Debonairs Pizza situated on Wick Street in the Verulam CBD was robbed by armed suspects for the second time this weekend.

At approximately 09:38 this morning (Sunday) the Reaction Unit South Africa (RUSA) Operations Center received a call from an employee of the pizza parlour reporting the robbery. On arrival, the Verulam SAPS Rapid Response Unit was on the scene.

It was established that three suspects entered the business shortly after it opened and robbed the business of an undisclosed amount of cash. One employee was pistol-whipped during the robbery. The suspects fled the scene in a silver vehicle (make, model and registration unknown).

This is the second robbery that occurred at the business this weekend. On Friday night three suspects robbed the business of an undisclosed amount of cash. The same suspects are believed to be involved in both incidents.

The employee that was assaulted in the robbery was treated on scene by Medics but decline further medical attention.
