Fortunate escape from injury at a residential fire in Roodewal, Bloemfontein

A residential property on a smallholding in Roodewal, Bloemfontein was completely destroyed by fire late yesterday evening.

Residents were woken by a loud noise in the house and then discovered a portion of the house was on fire, after which emergency services were alerted.

On arrival, it was found that all the occupants of the house managed to, fortunately, escape unharmed. The Mangaung Fire & Rescue service together with other emergency services battled the blaze for several hours with three fire appliances.

An investigation into the cause of the fire will be conducted by the relevant authorities.
