Two former petrol attendants sentenced for fraud

Thembalethu Jamani (33) and Xolani Mbangi (28) who worked as petrol attendants at Sasol garage in Bluedowns, Cape Town were sentenced today by the Bluedowns Magistrate’s Court for card fraud.

During July 2018 they colluded and poured fuel for cash paying customers using cloned bank cards. This resulted in the pair unduly pocketing about R6 390 in cash.

The pair were respectively sentenced to eighteen months imprisonment wholly suspended for five years on condition that they are not convicted for fraud during the period of suspension. Additionally, they were both declared unfit to possess a firearm.
