Woman held up in house robbery in Hazelmere, KZN

A woman was held up by three men at her home in Hazelmere near Verulam, KZN yesterday morning (Friday)

The Reaction Unit South Africa (RUSA) Operations Center in Verulam received a call at approximately 06:43 from the victim requesting assistance.

Reaction Officers proceeded to the residence and on arrival found the Verulam SAPS in attendance. It was established that as the female was leaving her home she noticed three men on her property. She attempted to flee on foot but they managed to apprehend her.

One suspect placed a knife on her neck and demanded that she open the door to the house. The victim complied and was restrained in one of the bedrooms while the suspects searched for valuables. The robbers loaded a TV, microwave, laptop, cellphone and clothing into the woman’s white Toyota Yaris and sped off.

The victim managed to free herself and sought assistance from neighbours who contacted authorities on her behalf. The tracking device on her vehicle was activated. The vehicle was recovered by Tracker abandoned in Inanda.

The victim was not injured.
