City of Ekurhuleni clamping down on illegal electricity and water connections

🔺Illegally connecting to the City’s infrastructure is against the law and can land guilty parties in hot water! This was the case with a Wadeville business that had illegally connected its💧 water meter. Not only was the illegal connection removed but the company was fined R31 177.88.

A Bedfordview business owing more than R4m to the #City had more than 5️⃣ metres of cable removed. This is after the company constantly illegally reconnected after the power was cut for non-payment.

Businesses are urged to #PayYourPart to avoid disconnection. The City can be approached to make arrangements for outstanding amounts owed.
