Bully stabbed during school brawl in Waterloo – KZN

An 18-year-old Grade 9 learner was stabbed during an altercation at a high school in Waterloo – Verulam.

Reaction Unit South Africa (RUSA) Verulam Operations Center received a call from an educator at the school requesting assistance for the injured student. On arrival of Reaction Officers, it was established that a grade 11 learner was being assaulted with a wooden plank by five boys when he drew an Okapi pocket knife and stabbed one of his attackers.

Educators intervened and separated the fight before rushing the injured pupil to a local clinic. The grade 11 learner was held in the staff room and handed over to Police.

The injured teenager was later transferred from the clinic to a Provincial Hospital for further medical attention.
