House in Parkgate gutted by Fire
An outbuilding in B Section, Parkgate was gutted by fire a short while ago (Thursday).
Neighbours contacted Reaction Unit South Africa (RUSA) at approximately 15:23 requesting assistance to extinguish the blaze. On arrival, Reaction Officers and the public managed to douse the flames with buckets of water and a garden hose.
According to an elderly woman, she was in the main building when her main switch tripped. She then got the smell of something burning and upon investigation found her outbuilding on fire. The room was extensively damaged.
The cause of the fire has not been established.
