Businesses in Ekurhuleni warned about illegal connections and outstanding bills for electricity

In the past 2 weeks, the City has recouped over R8 million from businesses in and around Germiston that are owing on their municipal bills.

Under the #PayYourPart campaign businesses across the City had their power switched off and, in some instances, the water was restricted for owing the municipality for water and electricity used and rates.

Any illegal water and electricity connections were also disconnected and guilty parties were fined accordingly. Defaulters who have yet to pay or make arrangements to settle their debts will only be reconnected once proof of payment on their accounts is provided.
